Reading is a very active process, it is nourishment that the mind needs. With reading comes knowledge which is food for the mind. By reading regularly one can improve their speaking, vocabulary and grammar. Children should read for fun, it should be part of their daily activity, especially throughout the holidays. Parents should make the reading activity a fun time that the children look forward to and not as a boring event that they can't wait for it to be over. The entire family can be involve in this enriching experience. After reading the parent can ask the child a few questions, to discuss the different point of views the child may have gain fron the story.
Some of the ways reading can be fun for children are:
Reading to the child, the parent need to do it with excitement, using different voices is a plus and they would enjoy the story telling more.
Let the children choose the books they are interested in reading.
Once children realize that reading can be fun they would enjoy the activity thus they can be more settle in school doing what is required for their success.
